Corey Forbes, O.D.

Corey Forbes, O.D.

Dr. Corey Forbes discovered his passion for optometry following a personal experience with an ocular injury caused by a golf ball while playing on the Southampton Academy golf team in Courtland, VA—an incident that ignited his lifelong interest in vision care. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry from East Carolina University and later received both his Doctor of Optometry and a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry.

Dr. Forbes brings years of hands-on experience delivering comprehensive primary eye care in rural Eastern Carolina, with a particular focus on the diagnosis and management of ocular disease. His clinical philosophy combines scientific precision with a strong dedication to patient education and expanding access to care, particularly in underserved communities.

While at Nova, Dr. Forbes also demonstrated a commitment to advocacy by organizing a campus-wide protest—reflecting his belief in standing up for patients, peers, and the profession alike.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Forbes enjoys walking with his girlfriend, spending time with friends and family, and cultivating his garden of specialty peppers. He’s also known for crafting some of the best homemade hot sauces around—a spicy hobby that’s become a true passion.
