Kurt K. DeVito, O.D.
Dr. DeVito is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Optometry. He began his optometric career in the U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps where he headed the submarine contact lens program for the Norfolk area.
Dr. DeVito served overseas in Jubail, Saudi Arabia with Fleet Hospital Five during Operation Desert Storm. He entered into private practice in 1991.
Dr. DeVito specializes in contact lenses, children’s vision care, ocular disease and primary eye care. An active member of the Tidewater Optometric Society, the Virginia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association, he is licensed to treat eye diseases including glaucoma. Dr. DeVito and his wife, Michelle have three children.
He enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid golfer.

Will Sawyer, O.D.
Dr. Sawyer, a native of Elizabeth City, spent his college years just south of Raleigh, NC, at Campbell University. He then attended and graduated in 2019 from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. During graduation, he was recognized and awarded for Excellence in Clinical Skills.
Dr. Sawyer joined DeVito & Martin Optometry in April of 2024 and enjoys family eye care, fitting contact lenses (soft, rigid, and specialty), myopia management, managing ocular disease, and dry eye therapy.
When not seeing patients, Dr. Sawyer spends time with his wife and children, does CrossFit, or stands in front of a grill or smoker!

Corey Forbes, O.D.
Dr. Corey Forbes discovered his passion for optometry following a personal experience with an ocular injury caused by a golf ball while playing on the Southampton Academy golf team in Courtland, VA—an incident that ignited his lifelong interest in vision care. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry from East Carolina University and later received both his Doctor of Optometry and a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry.
Dr. Forbes brings years of hands-on experience delivering comprehensive primary eye care in rural Eastern Carolina, with a particular focus on the diagnosis and management of ocular disease. His clinical philosophy combines scientific precision with a strong dedication to patient education and expanding access to care, particularly in underserved communities.
While at Nova, Dr. Forbes also demonstrated a commitment to advocacy by organizing a campus-wide protest—reflecting his belief in standing up for patients, peers, and the profession alike.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Forbes enjoys walking with his girlfriend, spending time with friends and family, and cultivating his garden of specialty peppers. He’s also known for crafting some of the best homemade hot sauces around—a spicy hobby that’s become a true passion.

Sara De La Rosa, M.D.
Dr. Sara De La Rosa is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist dedicated to preserving vision through advanced surgical innovation. She specializes in the comprehensive medical and surgical management of complex glaucoma, with a particular expertise in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) allowing for highly tailored, effective treatment plans.
In addition to her glaucoma expertise, Dr. De La Rosa offers premium cataract surgery, utilizing cutting-edge multifocal and toric lens technologies to help patients achieve their best possible visual outcomes.
Dr. De La Rosa earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School followed by an ophthalmology residency at Tulane University School of Medicine and a specialized glaucoma fellowship at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She is an active member of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the American Glaucoma Society (AGS). As a bilingual provider, Dr. De La Rosa delivers consultations in English and Spanish, helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. De La Rosa is a lifelong learner who enjoys reading, exploring new languages (including Python), and staying current with the latest podcasts. An avid traveler, she is also on an ongoing mission to visit all seven continents and maybe all 50 U.S. states.
Dr. De La Rosa is excited to join the team at DeVito & Martin Optometry and looks forward to serving the Norfolk-Virginia Beach community.
